Top international design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman has pledged to apply EDGE, the green building certification system for emerging markets, to at least five of its clients’ projects in the next year. EDGE, which stands for Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies, is an innovation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group.

Earlier today design team members from Perkins Eastman joined Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop, representatives of the Jersey City Council and Planning Board, developer China Overseas America, Inc., Plaza Construction, and a host of other dignitaries for the groundbreaking of 99 Hudson St. (aka 99 Hudson). At 79 stories tall and measuring 900 feet from sea level, 99 Hudson will be the tallest building in the state of New Jersey, surpassing the 781-foot tall Goldman Sachs building at 30 Hudson.

Beyond its individual certifications, Huishan North Bund has set the benchmark in China for comprehensive sustainable design on a large scale. Among the myriad features that contribute to its appeal, the most noteworthy is the new 12,000 sm marina and lock, the first of its kind in Shanghai.

In just under two years since the project officially broke ground, Target Field Station is poised for its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 17 at 3:00 PM. The new multi-modal transit hub and public plaza is the first of its kind for the region, bringing iconic Open Transit design to the Twin Cities.
